Áine specialises in Celtic Hand-fasting and just loves the ritual of ‘tying the knot’. Áine has facilitated and performed many happy marriages, commitment ceremonies and vow renewals. Áine is committed to supporting and serving you on your wonderful day. She is based in Dublin and is available to travel throughout the area.

Jasna Pasalic is a Dublin based photographer available for weddings nationwide and worldwide. Fascinated with life stories her aim is to document raw emotions through laughter, love and moments in between. Specialising in the relaxed documentary style of photography, Jasna offers a personable approach to capturing your wedding and providing you with beautiful images that last a lifetime.

A Brief History

Killyon Manor is a unique 18th century manor house with over a thousand years of tales that can be told of the area now defined by Killyon Manor. Pagans, Celts, colonisers, even Vikings have left their traces on this land. From jilted brides, mad priests and soldier ghosts, hidden treasure and secret tunnels, their history is buried in the earth, written in the trees, hidden in scattered ruins – and passed down still by word of mouth by people whose families have known this place for centuries.

The Chapel Ruin

The chapel ruin, located in a forested area of the manor, serves as a unique and picturesque backdrop, particularly for intimate ceremonies and It is part of the broader historical landscape of Killyon Manor, which includes remnants of old church sites, such as the ancient church of St. Liadhan near the Old Killyon Graveyard . A vow renewal is a beautiful way to reaffirm your commitment to one another and honor all that you have been through since marriage. Below, I answer the three most common questions about vow renewals. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions you may have or to start planning yours today!

Why do people do vow renewals?

There are so many reasons couples choose to renew their vows. Some of the most common are:

Their original wedding was small, and now they want to have more guests present.
They’ve overcome a major obstacle in their marriage and want to re-commit to each other to signify a new start. This could be a major illness or tragedy, a financial setback, or a temporary separation of which they have resolved.
They’re over the moon in love and just want to say “I do” again.
The friend circle has grown and changed considerably, and they want those people to be a part of their ceremony.
They can now afford their dream dress or suit and want to rock it in an official way.
Some people surprise their partner with a surprise vow renewal, which is quite romantic!
One of the most emotional ceremonies is when a vow renewal is used to say goodbye when one partner is terminally ill.

When should a vow renewal be done?

In short - whenever you want, however many times you want! Some couples do a renewal on a milestone anniversary, most commonly at the 10 or 20 year mark, but many do it sooner.
